When I Fall                         written   Feb. 12, 2016
Holy Spirit, I lay my heart at Your feet.
Holy Spirit, I lay my heart at Your feet.
You speak, You speak, sweet love into my heart.
You breathe, You breathe, new life to every part.
Holy Spirit, Believes in me when I don't.
Holy Spirit, lifts me up when I doubt,
You reach, You reach, inside for all that's sweet.
I receive, when I believe, the truth of my identity.
Chorus: You rock me back and forth, Your arms smooth every hurt.
You stroke the hair that falls,  and You wipe away the dirt.
~ when I fall
Holy Spirit, I lay down at Your feet.
Holy Spirit, I listen at Your feet.
You teach, You teach, teach me to have Your peace.
Your peace is the breeze, healing me and 'till I'm complete.
Chorus:   You rock me back and forth,  Your touch heals every hurt.
You catch the tears that fall,  and You wipe away the dirt
~ when I fall.
end:              Holy Spirit, You draw me in to go deep    - er.
The Story Behind the Song
The secret (of the sweet, satisfying companionship) of the Lord are those who rever & worship him, and He will show them His covenant, revealing to them its (deep inner) meaning. ~ Ps 25:14 (Amp)
I long to be closer to the Holy Spirit, and to have that interaction 'light' up my heart and mind.  At the time I was asking for healthier emotions; I was struggling with negative and depressed moods.  Each time I would find my self 'falling down', hurting myself and feeling like a failure.  I wanted to write songs that filled my mind with His words in order to 'change' the way I would think.  This song was the answer to that question.  I will choose to write songs with my head titled, listening to what the Holy Spirit wants to say through me because I know its from that place that the 'sweetness' His voice will be heard.  I don't always get it right, nor do I hear perfectly, but I know that through it all I am held, I am picked up, drawn close, and not judged for my mistakes.  Its in this safety net I know I can really live and share myself to you.
